So the fifth installment of the Soul Calibur series is out and i have been getting hands on with the various game modes, array of characters and the renowned character creation area.
The game takes place 17 years after the events of Soul Calibur 4
In the story mode of the game you play as the new comer to the series Patroklos on his journey to find his sister Pyrrha and also seek revenge on his mother Sophitia's death but soon he finds himself dealing with a bigger task...
To avoid spoilers he finds himself being the only person worthy to handle the sword of good (Soul Calibur) and is the only one that can save mankind from the sword of evil (Soul Edge)...
In my personal opinion it is not what a bought the game for but its a fair story and i would say its about a 7/10...
The character line up is more impressive with a sprinkle of old Soul Calibur legends like Ivy Valentine and Siegfried plus new faces like Natsu and Pyyrha...
The most impressive addition to the roster is the Assassins Creed Revelations lead character Ezio Auditore who is very easy to get a grip with a hugely powerful move set he is one of my top characters of the roster with Maxi and Ivy a close 2nd and 3rd place...

The online mode is the main reason i bought this game always good fun being able to hack and slash a friend or just some random 10 year old who thinks hes a god of gaming lol but in all seriousness with a easy to use system you will be fighting people all over the world or on your friends list in no time and with the capability of creating custom characters the multiplayer fun goes on and on i give the online features 9/10...
The create a character area of the game is better then the previous games with plenty of items to chose from the start plus unlocking more as you progress through the game and level up with clothes, accessories, weapons and much more you could make a whole new roster of characters for the game...

So all in all i feel that Soul Calibur 5 in my opinion is a great game with awesome graphics and great game play a average story mode but with a solid online, arcade and create a character function the game shines out and i would recommend it to anyone that loves kicking ass...
So i have decided to give Soul Calibur 5 a hard hitting 8.5/10...
